Robin Beaumont Dip. App. Chem., MBA
Non-executive Chairman
Robin Beaumont joined Arana’s board in August 2007 and was appointed Chairman on 1 November 2007.
Robin was Managing Director of the Advent Venture Capital group until 1998 and represented Advent’s interests as a Director of five investee companies, including Primary Health Care Limited and the Ayers Rock Resort Company. Prior to joining Advent, he had more than 10 years of strategy consulting experience, holding senior management positions in the Pacific Dunlop group. He is currently the chairman of Select Vaccines Limited (director since 2005) and was Chairman of the Cooperative Research Centre for Diagnostics until June 2007. Robin was a non-executive director of EvoGenix Limited (2004 to August 2007) until its merger with Peptech.
During the last three years he has also served as a director of listed companies Gropep Limited (1999 to 2006) and EvoGenix Limited (2004 to August 2007).
He is a member of the Remuneration Committee.

John Chiplin PhD, MRPharmS
Chief Executive Officer BPharm
John Chiplin was appointed as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Arana in January 2006.
John’s experience at companies such as GlaxoSmithKline, Biosym Technologies and Geneformatics (founding CEO) has given him a broad range of international executive management experience in the Life Science industry.
Immediately prior to joining Arana, John was head of the $300 million ITI Life Science fund in the UK.

Bill Bartlett FCA, FCMA, CPA, CA (SA)
Non-executive Director
Bill Bartlett joined Arana’s board in August 2004. He brings with him international public company experience ( UK and USA) and strong accounting, financial and corporate business credentials.
Bill is a retired partner of professional services firm Ernst & Young (E&Y), where he helped develop a specialist biotechnology practice. In previous roles at E&Y, he was Chairman of Worldwide Insurance Practice, National Director of Australian Financial Services Practice and Chairman of the Client Service Board.
He currently holds board positions on Suncorp-Metway Limited (director since July 2003), Reinsurance Group of America (NYSE) (director since May 2004), Abacus Property Group (director since February 2007) and GWA International Limited (director since February 2007).
During the last three years, he has also served as a director of listed company RCG Limited (2004 to October 2006).
He is Chairman of the company’s Audit and Compliance Committee and a member of the Remuneration Committee.

Lincoln Chee MBBS, FRCS, FAMS, FAAO-HNS
Non-executive Director
Lincoln Chee joined Arana’s board in April 2007. He brings to the board more than 18 years of healthcare experience. During his career he has been a Consultant surgeon with Singapore General Hospital and a clinical lecturer at the National University of Singapore.
He is currently Managing Director of Quality HealthCare Medical Services, Hong Kong’s leading healthcare group listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (director since March 2003).

Chris Harris B.Ec, FCPA, FAICD
Non-executive Director
Chris Harris joined Arana’s board in August 2007. Chris is a former Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of pharmaceutical company F.H. Faulding & Co. Limited. His earlier roles with the same company were as Finance Director and Chief Operating Officer. Since leaving Faulding in 1993, he has had a distinguished record of leadership as a Director and Chair of many major Australian companies. Chris is currently Chair of Argo Investments Limited (director since 1994), and non executive director of McGuigan Simeon Wines Limited (director since 1994), Adelaide Brighton Limited (director since 1995), United Water International Pty Limited (director since 1997) and JM Financial Group Limited (director since 1999). Chris was formerly the non-executive Chairman of EvoGenix Limited (2004 to August 2007) until its merger with Peptech.
He is a member of the Audit and Compliance Committee.

Dr Phil Jennings BSc, BVSc, PhD, FTSE
Chief Scientific Officer
Phil Jennings joined Arana’s board in August 2004, having served as Arana’s Chief Scientific Officer since September 2001.
He brings a depth of practical experience in patenting, intellectual property, biological and molecular science and its commercialisation, and in the resolution of commercial/licensing disputes. He is also the inventor on a number of important granted patents and patent applications including foundation patents for the biotechnology companies Gene Shears and Betabiotic.
Prior to joining Arana, Phil was a Chief Research Scientist and Corporate Fellow of CSIRO.

George Jessup MBBS, MBiomed Eng MBA
Non-executive Director
George joined Arana’s board in November 2007. George is active in investing in and providing strategic direction to biotechnology companies. He is co-founder and Managing Director of Start-up Australia, which manages institutional funds and invests in life science companies. Start-up Australia has played a key role in assisting numerous companies move from start-up to becoming significant players in their market, achieving an initial public offering or mergers and acquisitions. These companies now have operations in Australia, North America, China, India and South Africa. George has extensive experience in senior management roles in the medical device and pharmaceutical industries in the US and Australia, including an appoin™ent in the US as Global Director of Medical Affairs of the Medical Device Division of an international pharmaceutical company (American Cyanamid Company, later acquired by Wyeth).
George is currently a non-executive director of Bionomics Limited (director since 2005) and was formerly non-executive director of EvoGenix Limited (2001 to August 2007) until its merger with Peptech.
